The art of wood with Adam Eichenauer

In Germany, the name Eichenauer translates to "from the oak meadow"—a legacy of strength and timber that served as Adam’s life blueprint. Born into a lineage of fine art and woodworking, he began his journey at just 14 years old. Training as an apprentice under highly skilled master furniture makers on the tiny island of St. John, he mastered precision machinery and high-end joinery in an elite professional shop.

At 19, Adam brought his talents to Kauai. Living deep in the mountains of Wainiha, the tranquility of the wilderness inspired him to found Deep Country Woodworks. To elevate his craftsmanship, he also spent years working as a fine-finish painter, obsessively mastering the art of "the perfect finish" until he became renowned across both islands for his flawless work.

Today, backed by nearly three decades of experience, Adam is a premier wood artist, luxury furniture maker, and master cabinet designer. He treats rare Hawaiian hardwoods as a canvas for fine art, creating heirloom-quality statement pieces that instantly command a room. Specializing in bespoke kitchens, high-end media rooms, and luxury vanities, he seamlessly blends old-world heritage with modern architectural design.

Outside the shop, Adam enjoys surfing and martial arts, anchoring his focus to the islands. He credits his talent entirely to the Creator, sharing: "Every design idea I have is a gift from God. He created the timber; I just listen to His direction to shape it."
